VOLUNTEERING

Most people think that doing rescue work is as simple as just getting an animal and getting it adopted.  If ONLY it were that easy.  There are many different things that go on behind the scenes and these things are probably more important then anything we do in the public's eye.  Some of the areas that are always in need are the following:

Fund raising ideas

Attending fund raisers

Doing reference checks for potential adopters

Coordinating Home Visits for potential adopters

Making copies of paperwork

Compiling files for contacts

Fostering (of course)

Sometimes just pet sitting

Finding places that will work with rescues-groomers, vets, supply companies

Crafty people for the fund raisers

Transporting from one area to another

Temporary fostering (this is for less then one week and usually because we are waiting on an adoption to finalize before we can bring another into that foster home)

Filing all necessary legal paperwork

Grooming of animals

Finding affiliations

Helping collect items needed for the rescue: Bowls, leashes, collars, cleaners, paper towels, blankets, comforters, crates, puppy pens, gift cards

These are just a few of the extra things that go on behind the scenes.  There is ALWAYS more going on then meets the eye.  If you think you can be of help in any of these areas, or if you think you can help in an entirely new area, please contact us at whynotme@whynotmeanimalrescue.com

Thank you for any help that you can offer for all these precious souls.  Without volunteers we would NEVER have a chance to save more souls.
