Here at Why not Me? Animal rescue we are always trying to help more animals.  Some animals come from other rescues or shelters but as long as a life is being saved we are happy. 

TEENA

Teena is one of three pups saved from a shelter in WV.  The volunteers of this shelter were ordered to euthanize  300 shelter dogs if they where not adopted.   They  arrived in New Jersey June 16th and have been living in forster homes.

 Teena is 13 months old.  She is up to date on shots, frontline, heartgard and has been spay.  She is a sweet, loving little girl that spent 7 of her 13 months of life living in a shelter.  She is a shepherd mix and is full grown.  She weighs approximately 35-40 pounds and is not extremely large in size.  Teena needs someone with a gentle hand and a loving heart.  She is currently being fostered in a home with other dogs and cats. She loves playing with the other dogs and has no interest in the cats.  She is crate trained with no accidents in her kennel. She may need a little work on housebreaking since she had been living in a shelter environment for so long. Fenced yard would be wonderful because she loves being outside, running and playing for hours with her foster fur brothers and sisters.  She walks well on a leash but has no formal obedience training.

YOO-HOO

Meet Yoo-Hoo.  He was found by an angel in Jamacia Estates, NY.  She is unable to keep him but does NOT want to send him to the shelter where he will most likely be put to sleep.  This angel has taken him to the vet and had him brought up to date on all his shots and she has had blood work done as well.   He is about 8 years old and gets along with everyone and everything.  He has been neutered and is up to date on all his shots.  Yoo-Hoo's only problem is that he has some minor arthritis in his legs but at his age he is a remarkably healthy dog.  All tests have come back normal and he is ready for his real home.  If you can help spoil Yoo-Hoo please contact us at whynotme@whynotmeanimalrescue.com

We have 2 boys and 1 girl.  The picture, up top, to the right is our little girl.  They are living with 3 German Shepherds and 6 cats at this time.  So they are very animal friendly and LOVE to play like Labs do. Here are some personality descriptions of the wonderful puppies that just came into our rescue.

ADOPTED Harley-Female, black lab mix with a couple white toes and a white patch on her chest.  She truly is a gem and a fireball.  She LOVES to play and jump on you but she is still a little frightened when you pick her up.  She does listen when she wants too and is just starting to learn her commands.  So far she knows back and off but even these two commands are in the process of accepting them.  LOL 

Hooch-Male, black lab mix.  He is a rather larger puppy and will probably be the largest of the 3.  He is a REAL ball of energy and LOVES getting into things, but what else are puppies supposed to really do.  One of his best traits is to sit and look at you with his 'innocent' face.  Hooch will need a home where he can play, run and be the sweet boy he thinks he is.  :-)

Homer-Male, black lab mix also with a couple whit spots on him.  Homer is the quietest of all 3.  He will usually sit there and wait for the other two to start the trouble and then he comes in right before everyone gets caught.  He LOVES to wrestle with his sister, but he ALWAYS loses.  When he wrestles with Hooch, Homer usually wins BUT then Hooch will jump him when he isn't watching.  :-)

All 3 dogs are very shy when picked up.  Their tails will go between their legs and the start to cower.  I don't know WHAT happened to them in their short lives BUT it will never happen again.  These 3 babies live with 3 German Shepherd dogs and a few cats.  They do like the chase the cats but nothing to be mean.  It is the ONLY time all 3 work together to become the 'mean' puppies.  LOL

Izzy-He is a terrier mixed with something.  We are still trying to figure that one out.  He has a partial blue tongue BUT there are several breeds that have that characteristic.  He also has an underbite.  He is about 4 months old and a ball of energy.  He LOVES to be loved.  He is a licker and will just lick you until you are clean.  He is loves to run around the yard and play with toys.  He also loves to be chased.  Izzy is about 30 pounds and will not get much bigger.

Ivy-She is a shepherd/beagle mix.  She is about the size of a larger beagle but has the head and face of a shepherd.  Ivy will be about 40 pounds when she fills out.  Ivy is an amazing dog and just LOVES to run around.  She is a little shy but warms up nicely.  She LOVES to play with squeaky toys and run away from you with them.  She is also about 4 months old.

Odie-Is a 9 month old Pitbull mix.  He is with his brother Zues who is also a Pitbull mix.  Odie is nothing more then a lover.  His owner recently had a baby and they decided that the dogs were to be kept outside.  We would like to keep Odie and Zeus together since they have relied upon each other for support.

Zeus-Odie's brother.  Zeus is also a 9 month old Pitbull mix.  Zeus could only care about one thing.  Being on your lap.  He doesn't understand what has happened since neither of them have done anything wrong to deserve being thrown out of their home. 

We also have a blind dog that is a mix breed, we are not sure what the breeds are but we are trying to figure it out.  This baby is currently in a home but needs to find a new family to love him.  His currently family LOVES him dearly and saved him from certain death.  The family treated him for heartworms and has taken care of him for some time.  Unfortunately due to a family illness they cannot devote the necessary time to him.  This baby can not see in front of him too well but does see well on his sides.  He is about 2 years old and we do have pictures if you are interested.  He gets along with other animals and people.  He is a REAL cutie.
